Villa Convento is a hamlet of 728 inhabitants in the province of Lecce administratively divided between the municipalities of Novoli and Lecce. A part of the County of Lecce, founded by the Normans around 1055, were the farmstead of Santa Maria de Novis (current Novoli) and the feud of Nubilo or Novule or Noole (now Villa Convento). These territories followed the same fate of the County passing under the domain of the Svevi, Angioini, Aragonesi and under the control of the various feudal families.
