Carpignano Salentino (Karpignàna in griko, Carpignanu in Salento dialect) is an Italian town of 3,857 inhabitants in the province of Lecce. Located in the eastern Salento, 13 km from the Adriatic coast and 25 km from the provincial capital, it also includes the village of Serrano. Since 2005 is part of the Union of Municipalities of Greek Salento, the area of ??influence of the Greek Salento characterized by the presence of the "griko" language.
