Church of Santi Niccolò e Cataldo
It is a medieval church in Lecce. Together with the adjoining monastery, it was founded in 1180 by the Norman Tancredi d'Altavilla. Tancredi donated the complex to the Benedictine monks, followed in 1494 by the Olivetan fathers who remained until 1807, by will of Alfonso II of Naples.
In 1716 the Olivetans undertook a radical restructuring of the building. The façade was rebuilt by Giuseppe Cino in pure Lecce's Baroque, preserving the only valuable portal and the rose window.
