Church of S. Francesco d'Assisi
It is a Baroque building in the historic center of Gallipoli. The ancient part of the church dates from the XIII century, but subsequent rearrangements, that have occurred between the XVII and XVIII century, have radically transformed the structure, hiding the original medieval lines.
The facade in carparo stone, on two levels, was rebuilt in 1736 by Mauro Manieri. On the top are placed the emblem of the Franciscans and the inscription that recalls the date of construction.
