Alessano is an Italian town of 6,436 inhabitants in the province of Lecce, Apulia. Set in south Salento, it also includes the hamlet of Montesardo and the seaside resort of Marina di Novaglie. In the past, it played a large role throughout the whole Capo di Leuca; it was the seat of the diocese until 1818, and the county seat.
