Torre Vado is a marina of 112 inhabitants belonging to the municipality of Patu in the province of Lecce. Set in Salento, not far from Santa Maria di Leuca, is a popular beach resort of the Ionian coast of Salento. The coast is characterized by low cliffs. The town has developed around the small port mainly in recent decades, driven by building tourist. The town takes its name from a watchtower. "Vado" derives from the Latin "vadum" (guado), the coast is easily accessible from the sea, or according to another hypothesis, from the Spanish "ovado", ie the place where the fish deposits eggs.
