Church of Carmine
The church, together with the adjacent Carmelites' convent, is an architectural complex of Lecce.
It was designed by architect Giuseppe Cino, who worked there until 1722, year of death. It was completed in 1737 thanks to Mauro Manieri.
The facade of the church, built by Cino between 1711 and 1717, is divided into three superimposed orders and presents a wealth of ornaments and decorations.
The interior features a longitudinal elliptical grafted to a non-projecting transept, while the plant, with clear biblical references, reproduces the shape of the human foot.
