Capece di Corsano Feudal Palace
It was built in the XVII century on the ruins of an ancient fortress built by Fabiano Securo in the early XIII century. It underwent several changes over the centuries and was last used as a tobacco deposit.
The ceilings present starry and barrel vaults and have a roof garden. Of the old decorations are still some remains of frescoes in the rooms of the main floor and some modest bas-reliefs located in the throne room. The chapel dedicated to S. Vito was once attached to the main building.
There's an old legend related to the castle: it is said that the Capece feudal lords made build a secret passage only known by the baron that, in case of danger, could quickly use to flee. To ensure the secrecy of this step, the Baron ordered the killing of the designer and the builder of the work.
