Baronial castle of Felline
The medieval castle of Felline is a building dating from the 12th century. It was built by the Bonsecolo family, remodeled in the 13th century by the Malaspinas, and in the 16th century by the Tolomei family. It has a rectangular plan with four towers on each side. The main façade is characterized by a balcony supported by shelves made of carparo stone and a large portal surmounted by the country's coat of arms. The large main floor rooms are frescoed; however, the frescoes are not visible because of the lime covering them. Originally, the castle was the north summit of the ancient city walls.
