Basilica Shrine of Our Lady of the Crop
The church sanctuary was rebuilt between 1913 and 1942 by architect Napoleone Pagliarulo. It stands on a previous church from the early 17th century, which was in turn built on the ruins of an ancient chapel of the 14th century. Inside is kept an 11th-12th century Byzantine fresco depicting the Virgin and Child. The temple was elevated to diocesan shrine in May 15, 1949 by Bishop Francesco Minerva and raised to a minor basilica on September 1, 1999 by Pope John Paul II.
