Church of Alcantarine

The church of St. Mary of Providence, better known as Church of Alcantarine by the nuns who occupied the adjoining monastery, now demolished, is a church of the old village of Lecce: it's one of the simplest examples of religious architecture in the city.
Its facade, formed by three superimposed orders, has simple decorative elements.
The interior has a vaulted roof with a light stucco decoration. Of particular interest is the polychrome glazed brick floor dating back to the 19th century.
