Fulcignoano's castle
The Fulcignano's Castle, built between the 12th and 14th century by the Normans, is located on the southern outskirts of the town and belonged to the old abandoned Fulcignano farmhouse in the 15th century. What remains is the quadrilateral fortified town with calcarenitic stone walls (tuff), approximately 8m high and 2.60m thick . The fence is reinforced by square towers characterized internally by a circular plant. The main entrance is surmounted by an elegant frieze. From the entrance room can be accessed, as well as the garden, two rooms with vaulted ceiling. From the second compartment, through a tiny door, there is a third room without paving characterized by different architectural elements.
